Not the most convincing performance by the boys but another good step towards the inter-Toto cup was made with a narrow win over struggling Newry Town at the showgrounds.
Again Town kept up their push for a place in the Inter-Toto Cup with this win at Newry Town.
The only goal of the game came after 33 minutes when a Ruairi Boyle free-kick bounced off Andrew Crawford into the path of Barry Patton who fired first time past Stranded Newry Keeper Davy O’Hare.
Newry created a number of chances in an attempt to salvage something from the game.
Anthony Shevlin perhaps had the best chance to level the scoring in the second half when he fired a Gareth Fulton cross just over the bar while a short time before Omagh ‘keeper Gavin Cullen pulled off a superb save to deny Robert Casey.
However Omagh powered back in the closing minutes and almost extended their lead through James Quigley and, in the final minute, Ivan Sproule came close but narrowly fired wide with just O’Hare to beat.
